On 3rd July, the ban on certain single-use plastic products enters into force, and marking requirements enter into force. The EU is tackling the 10 single-use plastic items most commonly found on Europe’s beaches, and is promoting sustainable alternatives.
Through the EU’s Directive on single use plastic, different measures are being applied to different products. In order to achieve effective and successful results, it is essential to ensure that measures put in place are done so in a proportionate manner while ensuring that more sustainable alternatives, that are easily available and affordable, are available at the same time.
